Alea works automatically to adjust its louvers based on your temperature preferences, opening and closing to deliver or reduce the airflow coming into the room. The Alea system constantly monitors the position of your vent louvers, which is viewable as a percentage shown in the app as follows: closed, 25% open, 50% open, 75% open, and fully open.
Alea defaults to 'Automatically' adjust louvers on your behalf. At anytime, if you would like to 'Manually' adjust the louvers of a vent to increase or decrease airflow, you can do so on the 'Vent Settings' screen. You can access your 'Vent Settings' in two ways 1.) From 'Home' screen > Select Room > tap the 'Louver Settings' link or 2.) Settings > Vents > Select Vent > Control Vents Manually > Select Louver position.
Once you've set a vent to manual mode, you will see the 'M' icon appears across the app indicating that this room is currently in 'Manual' mode. To return the vent to the 'Automated' settings go to Settings > Vents > Select Vent > Tap grey 'Auto' button. The vent will return to 'Automatic' mode. The grey 'Auto' button will now show as green (connected) and the 'M' (manual) icon will no longer show next to the vent.
